As most of us know, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers won Super Bowl LV in February. With the arrival of Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski, the Buccaneers were able to win their second Super Bowl trophy, 19 years after winning their first one. Tom Brady has definitely proved to us that he can lead his team into the Super Bowl wherever he goes. However, can he help the Tampa Bay Buccaneers bring home the Super Bowl trophy for the 3rd time? Considering there are a lot of extremely powerful teams this season, it might be significantly harder for the Buccaneers. The Buccaneers also have many players who haven’t played much with each other like Richard Sherman, Rob Gronkowski, and Antonio Brown. Many are saying that they may not play well with each other, since these players are relatively old and may not be able to assist Tom Brady very well. With many teams trying to knock off the Buccaneers and internal problems, can they do it again?
Washed or not?
The Buccaneers have many excellent players including newly signed free agent Richard Sherman, which was a very clever move by the Bucs. Richard Sherman is one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL, and his addition to the Buccaneers could really boost their defensive skill. Richard Sherman has had numerous tackles spreading across each season and close to 500 tackles in his career so far. Although he’s an extremely valuable and useful player, he’s only getting paid $2,000,000 a year. He went from getting paid about $31,000,000 to sitting around and hoping for a contract. In our opinion, it was an extremely well-planned move on the Bucs' side to sign Richard Sherman. If he can repeat what he has done in the past, Richard Sherman can contribute significantly to the success of the Buccaneers.
In addition to signing Richard Sherman this year, the Bucs also have linebacker Devin White, offensive tackle Tristan Wirfs, and wide receiver Antonio Brown. Antonio Brown has 800+ receptions in his career, 11,000+ receiving yards, and over 100 interceptions. Devin White and Tristan Wirfs are a few of the players on the Bucs that have great potential to help out their team with their respective skills. Previously, the Bucs didn’t have the best defense, however these players should be able to improve their defense. Their extremely smart decision of including all of these players, will allow a good shot for the Buccaneers to advance into the Super Bowl.
Chemistry Within The Team
As we mentioned before, Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski really are a spectacular duo with the NFL. In the 2020-2021 NFL season, with all of their hard work, they were able to carry the Buccaneers into the Super Bowl for the first time in 19 years. Together, the dynamic pair has won 4 Super Bowls. Unfortunately, Rob Gronkowski was injured a few weeks ago when the Bucs played the Rams, which means he may not be able to return for a while. Now that he’s out, Tom Brady will have to rely heavily on other players to help him win the upcoming games. On a positive note, this might not heavily impact the Buccaneers, since they’ve only lost one game this season, to the Los Angeles Rams. In the upcoming few weeks, we’ll have to see how the team manages with all these injuries.
Challengers to the Throne
In any sport, going back-to-back into the championships is pretty hard, no matter how good you are as a team or how skilled your star players are. This is because every season there are always a few teams who have become stronger than ever. It’s tough to compete against these few teams. Who are the teams we’re talking about Let’s check out three of the biggest challengers
The other two teams are the Arizona Cardinals and the Green Bay Packers. Unlike the Ravens, they are teams that they are going to have to go through the NFC if they want to make the Super Bowl. They both have quarterbacks Kyler Murray and 2 time MVP Aaron Rodgers on their teams. Aaron Rogers has been to the playoffs numerous times, so the Packers are really tough contenders for the throne. Both teams haven’t disappointed us this season. Although this was highly unexpected, the Cardinals have the best record in the NFL, with six wins and zero losses. Aaron Rodgers has also been carrying the Packers very well with five wins and one loss. These two teams could be extremely deadly in a matchup against the Bucs,
If the Buccaneers end up making the Super Bowl, a big contender for the trophy would be the Baltimore Ravens. Based on how well they are doing, and what incredible players they have, the Baltimore Ravens have an extremely high chance of making the Playoffs, and perhaps the Super Bowl. With superstar quarterback Lamar Jackson on the Ravens, things could get pretty rough and heated down the stretch in a late game situation. To make things even harder for the Bucs, it seems like Lamar and his good ol’ wide receiver buddy Marquise Brown have pretty good chemistry as well. Brown has 451 receiving yards just 5 games into the season which is eighth in the NFL right now and a lot better than Tampa’s best receiver Mike Evans who is at 393 within the 5 games. The Bucs’ defense needs to be extra strong if they go up against the Ravens in the Super Bowl.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a relatively high chance of advancing ahead into the Super Bowl. Richard Sherman is a cornerback who will hopefully boost the Buccaneers’ overall chances of doing well. The Buccaneers have many other wonderful players within their team such as Antonio Brown, Richard Sherman, Devin White, and Tristan Wirfs. All of these players can contribute to an extremely successful season for the Buccaneers. Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski, will of course create a legendary duo in this season. A few internal problems will include the players being able to effectively assist Tom Brady and injuries. Another problem will be the three teams that the Buccaneers need to watch out for. These three teams are the Arizona Cardinals, the Green Bay Packers, and the Baltimore Ravens. Although the Bucs won’t verse the Ravens unless both teams reach the Super Bowl, they should keep a lookout for them in case they end up in the Super Bowl. Hopefully, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a successful football season and bring home a third Super Bowl trophy.
