Chips are one of the most loved snacks in the world and there is an enormous variety of flavors and brands. But which are the best? So we are here today to talk about them. But first, some background knowledge.

The History of the Potato Chip

Potato chips are thin pieces of potato which are fried or baked until crunchy, but how were they invented? It all began with a potato. Then that potato became a french fry

and that french fry was served at the restaurant Moon's Lake House in the state of New York and in the town of Saratoga Springs. The fries at Moon’s Lake House were very popular at the time. A chef by the name of George Speck was serving fries when he got a complaint. The customer complained that the fries were too thick and chewy. As a result, George made a new batch of thinner fries, yet the customer was still unsatisfied and continued to complain. George became annoyed by these complaints and made the fries so thin the customer couldn't even eat them with a fork, but to his surprise the customer loved it. That's how chips were invented. __________________________________________________________________________________

Best Brand

After asking multiple students, we have found out that Centerville Jr High’s favorite chip brand is Lays. Lays received 15 votes. The runner up was Pringles with 12 votes. There were multiple brands with no votes.

Lays is a chip brand that has been around for more than 75 years! Lays has a huge variety of flavors, but they also have different kinds of chips. They have chips that are layered and pop! Some of the chips are kettle cooked and are wavy in texture.

Conclusion

The results of this survey were very interesting as popular chips such as SunChips received no votes. Something that was very interesting is that Doritos wasn’t as popular as I thought it would be. Due to our interviews, we now know what part of Centerville Jr. High’s favorite chip brand and flavor is.
