You may have heard of McDonald's, Papa John’s, Taco Bell and other popular fast food places which millions of people go to eat. They have established a name for themselves and have kept making their franchise bigger and bigger. And today, we’ll be ranking them from 5 through 1. Who gets the name of the best fast food place? Who gets the worst rating out of them? Be sure to read further as we rank them from worst to best.
Number 5: McDonalds
McDonalds has got to be the biggest fast food chain on this list, and maybe even on this planet. This doesn’t mean their food is going to be the best, and for good reason. To start, my meal. The entree I had at McDonalds was the Spicy Crispy Chicken Deluxe Sandwich. The new crispy fried chicken patty felt a little forced into the rest of the classic parts of a chicken sandwich. (Lettuce, Tomato, Mayonnaise, and Chicken). Also, the lettuce and tomato are the only things that are added in the “Deluxe” option over the normal Spicy Crispy Chicken. For a standard Spicy Crispy Chicken at Burger King, that has all of the same ingredients, it would be given to you for 20 Cents cheaper, at $4.99, compared to McDonalds’ $5.19. More importantly, the taste. To give McDonalds’ some credit, the Spicy Crispy Chicken Deluxe I had looked great, and the fried chicken tasted on par with other fast food restaurants nearby. The problem however, was that this was a sandwich, not just a piece of fried chicken. All the other ingredients in the sandwich, the Mayo, Lettuce, and Tomatoes, felt out of place, and did not make the sandwich taste better. They just added to the price. The Mayo they added to the sandwich only made it spicier, meaning that this sandwich isn’t even slightly different from the non-spicy variant, apart from the sauce. This only made it worse, sadly, for the grade that McDonald's received. The taste of the overall sandwich was at best. Sadly, McDonalds does not seem to be on par with the other smaller fast food restaurants of the 21st Century, and we sincerely hope they can do better.

Number 4: Taco Bell
Taco Bell is a very popular restaurant, yet it consists of many problems. To start, Taco Bell has above average food, but you may have noticed the price. It’s too expensive. A simple crunchy taco is almost $3.99! Taco Bell is also extremely unhealthy due to the amount of spices added. Too much food from Taco Bell can make a person suffer from loose-motion. Every time a person goes to Taco Bell, the first ingredient seen is beans. This can lead to food poisoning if consumed on a regular basis. However, Taco Bell is the world’s leading Mexican-style quick service restaurant chain, serving more than 46 million customers each day. This is probably because of the great taste. Taco Bell has a very rich taste in all of their items. The taco I had, the Crispy Chicken Sandwich Taco, left a lasting hunger in my mouth, asking for more. It has started serving breakfast burritos and sandwiches from 7am - 11am. They also have a variety of sauces to add to your taco. They have mild, hot, fire, salsa verde, and many more sauce options. The taste is outstanding. The rich taste and spice add an amazing taste to a food. Taco Bell is purely fresh. By this, I mean that their food is not pre-made, and is cooked in the building. The taste was great, and I highly recommend it for a quick dinner. Overall, Taco Bell has earned itself a 6.5/10 in my eyes.

Number 3: Chick-Fil-A
Chick-Fil-A is a fan-favorite restaurant, and for good reason. Founded in 1946 by S. Truett Cathy, a person credited with inventing the Chicken Sandwich, Chick-Fil-A has been pioneering the art of making the perfect Chicken Sandwich for years now. Yet, it still has its problems. To start, Chick-Fil-A prices its tiny Spicy Crispy Chicken Sandwich at $3.99, pretty decent for a sandwich, and must cheaper than McDonalds’ or More importantly, the taste. This entree is my usual go to, but the one I had recently to rank this was not the best I’d had. The “mouth fire” that was advertised on the wrapper did not really come to fruition, as the sandwich was, at best, mildly spicy, and some bites were perfect and some were a little too chewy, but that challenge may come with other fast food places too, with their delicious boneless chicken breast. To visualize the texture, imagine eating a pizza, and every bite so far was perfect. Then, imagine substituting one third of that perfect pizza texture with soggy bread. This was my experience eating this sandwich. All that said, the sandwich was actually really good, and I would recommend it for a quick lunch on the go, or a surprise for a friend.

Number 2: Papa John’s
Papa John’s is one of the most well known pizza places in the U.S. They are mostly known for their delicious and well served pizza options. They have been making pizzas for almost 30 years and have been named one of the best pizza places in the U.S. even though some people do not even know what it is. The founder of Papa John’s is 60 year old John Schnatter. Here's a breakdown for you if you don’t already know. First off, the price is very decent for a great custom made pizza. With offers rolling almost anywhere, at the time of typing, you can buy an extra large custom pizza for $16.99 which is an absolute steal! Going back to their taste, they have custom options such as Fresh Garden Lovers, Hawaiian BBQ Pizza and Extra Cheesy Pizza. They even have sweet desserts like Cinnamon rolls, Chocolate Chip Cookies and even Double Chocolate Brownies. But even with such underrated taste and price, Papa John’s can be a trusted go-to option if you even need a pizza in a hurry since they’ll never disappoint! Rating: 8.5/10
Number 1: Subway
Subways is one of the most popular fresh sandwiches food chains in the world. There are over “4.9 billion combinations”(huffpost.com) with all food options. They have been one of the biggest fresh sandwich companies for around 50 years. This company was started off by Fred DeLuca and financed by a family friend Dr. Peter Buck. It was previously named “Pete’s Super Submarine"'. At Subway, people have multiple options. You can either get a 6”-Long piece of bread, or get a footlong bread. Then with the things you put inside is your choice. You also have the option to add a sauce. Since there are usually meats in the sandwiches, they also have a veggie patty for the Vegans of the world. The Veggie Patty before the pandemic made the sandwich taste like a solid 10/10. The veggie patty was delicious because of the texture, taste, and the crispness. The fast food building itself is very good. When you walk in, you can smell the aroma of fresh bread. They have great customer service, anonymous “The folks that work here are the best. Very nice, prompt and they work together to get your order out as quickly as possible.” All the places follow a specific theme: they have realistic photos of vegetables as wallpapers, the tables are all mostly the same color as bread. For only $5, you can get a footlong(a 12 inch-long Sub), which 2 people could enjoy for lunch, but is still great for just 1 person to eat alone. For price, this is a good deal.
